It is still about two months until an absolute highlight of competition in 2011.
From 21 – 25 September, the $122,000 ITTF Pro Tour event will be held at the Werner Schlager Academy in the Multiversum in Schwechat.
This will be the first time a sport's tournament of this organizational magnitude will be held in Schwechat.
Approximately 400 players from around the world will be in the WSA in Schwechat to add a touch of the big wide world to the city. Representatives from all continents will compete. This ITTF Pro Tour tournament in Schwechat will be the ultimate test for the table tennis stars prior to the European Championships in Gdansk (8 – 16 October).
Austria will be represented with a large contingent. Werner Schlager, Chen Weixing, Robert Gardos, Daniel Habesohn, Stefan Fegerl, Li Qiangbing - all are planning on playing in Schwechat.
In addition, Austria's offspring will be at the Austrian Open at the start: Stefan Leitgeb, Simon Pfeffer, Nicole Galitschitsch, and Melanie Luginger from the WSA-training group will compete in the Under-21 event.
