As part of the LIEBHERR World Table Tennis Championships in Paris-Bercy (all results and detailed reports can be found at www.ittf.com) the Canadians Adham Sharara was elected for another four years as President of the ITTF, which he heads since 1999.
He won a crucial vote against the Italian ETTU President Stefano Bosi with 149:55 votes.
Sharara will continue
to focus on growth and development and at the same time presented with Bonaire (Netherlands Antilles) the 218th recognized
national association under the roof
of the second largest sports federation
in the world (behind volleyball with 220 nations).
The next host cities of major ITTF events are also fixed since the ITTF
Annual Congress of Paris:
