After the weekend of the National Championships the table tennis nations in Europe have found their new champions! Of course numerous WSA players who practice or even live at the Werner Schlager Academy participated at their respective National Championships. We publish here the list of „our“ victors:

Beginning with our direct neighbours we congratulate Alex GALIC – Slovenian national team player – on her third place in the single competition and her gold medal in the doubles with her partner Manca FAJMUT.

In Hungary SVNÖ Ströck player Dora MADARASZ started at the championships. Admittedly she lost to Georgina POTA in the finals, but in the doubles she could win the title together with Szandra PERGEL.

Wider in the north the Slovakian Samuel NOVOTA reached the second pace in the doubles with Jaromir TRUSKA.

In the Czech Republic the WSA players were really successful. The WSA and the Czech Table Tennis Federation started cooperating and in the meanwhile three Czech players practice regularly at the WSA. Lubomir JANCARIK reached the first place in the mixed doubles competition together with Iveta VACENOVSKA. Also Tomas KONECNY could win one title. He fought for the gold medal in the doubles with Petr DAVID. Finally Pavel SIRUCEK finished the weekend very successful winning the singles competition and becoming the new National Champion of the Czech Republic.

Tetyana BILENKO showed a brilliant performance at the Ukrainian Championships where she reached three times the second place. Thereby she lost very, very close to Margaryta PESOTSKA in the singles competition final with a 3-4 result.

The last player from a country which is located in the east of Austria is Andrea TODOROVIC who could win the Serbian championships.

Lea RAKOVAC, the Croatian hope of the future and SVNÖ Ströck player, reached the second place in the doubles together with Petra PETEK.

Going west to Luxembourg Sarah DE NUTTE has already secured the national title two weeks ago. Also successful was Eric GLOD who has practiced at the WSA since some months with a second place in the singles.

Also in England Daniel REED reached a good result together with Samuel WALKER in the doubles competition. In the finals they have already won two games against the reigning champions PITCHFORD / DRINKHALL before they lost three games in a row. But they reached a very good second place.

Finally we go to our neighbours in Switzerland where Rahel ASCHWANDEN won the title in the singles. The likeable Swiss was victorious against Rachel MORET. Together with MORET she also won the gold medal in the doubles.

Congratulations to all WSA players on their performance at their National Championships!
