Andreas Levenko is making headlines in Varaždin (Croatia). The rookie from the Werner Schlager Academy was in a dramatic final able to decide the Croatia Junior Open for himself, and win the first major title in his career.
After his qualification and participation at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing (China) about three weeks ago the son of the WSA coach Dmitrij Levenko succeeded a very great victory. The 16-year-old knew best how close his 8-11, 2-11, 11-7, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9 win against the English Weerasinghe was: “A very interesting final match, at the beginning, I did not have enough confidence. After I won the third and fourth games, everything turned in my favour; this is the third time this year that I have played Helshan Weerasinghe [Note: opponent in the final] and now I’ve won all three times but today was by far the hardest.”
The father of success scatters his son roses: "I am particularly so happy, because Andre is starting to bring stable results now. He plays already the second tournament where he did not lose to people who are weaker from the paper form as him. He has won all tight situations in this tournament, which is very gratifying.” said the pleased father Dmitry Levenko.
Also Karoline Mischek and Jessica Zlatilova took part at the Croatian Junior Open.
The Werner Schlager Academy congratulates Andre Levenko to his this big success!
