On Wednesday, 6 April, a real treat is in store for the table tennis fans as the Multiverse in Schwechat will host the semi-final round of the Champions League between SVS Niederösterreich and the defending champion Borussia Dusseldorf.
SVS reached this stage with a magnificent 3-0 victory over Hennebont (F). Particularly noteworthy was the play by the young player Stefan Fegerl, who won in a convincing manner over Hennebot superstar Kalinikos Kreanga 3-1. With Werner Schlager unavailable due to injury, Daniel Habesohn provided one point, as did the ever-entertaining and impressive Chen Weixing.
Dusseldorf stands on top of European table tennis, as the German Series champions, Cup winners, and Champions League winner, led by their magnificient World ranked number one Timo Boll.
The Werner Schlager Academy head coach, Richard Prause (who sits on the bench for SVS) and Dirk Wagner have worked for years in Dusseldorf and contributed coaching support to Timo Boll's rise in the World.
