A big success for SVS-STRÖCK star Daniela Dodean at the European Championships in Gdansk.
The Schwechat-resident, a fixed and permanent guest in the training group at the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat since the opening of the hall complex in late 2010, has led Romania into the team final.
Dodean starred in the semi-final with Belarus against the reigning European champion Viktoria Pavlovic and her outstanding defense by winning 11:4, 10:12, 11:8, 5:11, 14:12, thereby laying the foundation for a
3 – 0 Romanian victory, walking them into the final against defending champions Holland on Wednesday evening.
“A great victory for me, that means a lot to me,” enthused Dodean as she talked about the match she played brilliant over long periods against the best defensive player in Europe.
Austria and Portugal for the men seeking the bronze medal, with Portugal fielding a strong staff, including WSA player Joao Monteiro.
Thursday starts the European Championships' singles and doubles competitions in Gdansk.
