The World Cup, following the Olympics and the World Championships, is the world's third-largest table tennis event and brings players not only nice prize money but also a lot of world ranking points.

Topping the seedings for the women's World Cup are the Chinese Liu Shiwen and Guo Yue.

No female Austrian is competing in Huangshi.
