Europe's superstars in the WSA

02.07.2012

Once again, the spacious training hall of the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat is just too small.  Since Sunday, the top European stars are in the Academy to prepare for the Summer Olympic Games in London.

The best of the European men are in a romp in the WSA training hall: Timo Boll, Dimitri Ovtcharov, Bastian Steger, Patrick Baum, Vladimir Samsonov, Michael Maze, Adrien Mattenet, Zoran Primorac, Jorgen Persson, Joao Monteiro and many more.

Right in the middle Austria's national team with Werner Schlager, Robert Gardos, Daniel Habesohn and Stefan Fegerl.

In the facility’s event hall, where recently the great Chinese Aces (who took all the gold) prepared for the World Team Championships in Dortmund, Europe’s top women are conducting their Olympic preparation: from Liu Jia and Li Qiangbing from Austria, Daniela Dodean and Elisabetha Samara from Romania, Wu Jiaduo, Kristin Silbereisen and Irene Ivancan from Germany to Denmark's Mie Skov, or White Russia world-class defender Viktoria Pavlovich.

Coordination and direction for all the activities are provided by WSA head coach Richard Prause and ÖTTV-women national coach Liu Yan Jun.

Once again, the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat is the hub of the table tennis sports world. And all this just two weeks before the start of the European Youth Championships, with its 1,200 visitors from nearly 50 countries.
