At the LIEBHERR World Table Tennis Championships in Paris-Bercy, the years-long dominance of China was evident again.
Both in the men's singles (gold for Zhang Jike)
and in the women's singles (Li Xiaoxia) all medals
went to China. In the women's doubles China's players brought gold, silver and bronze.
As in previous years, China's team prepared
for the World Championships in the
Werner Schlager Academy in the week before. Like in
2011 and 2012 also this year China obviously
benefited from it.
The WSA players showed
strong performances, especially Robert Gardos (second
round), Robert Gardos / Daniel Habesohn (quarterfinals),
Marcos Freitas (second round) and Daniela Dodean (last
32 five months after her heavy knee surgery).
Next international top event in table tennis calendar are the LIEBHERR European Championships (4 - 13 October) at the Werner Schlager Academy.
