From 13 – 20 May the (table tennis) world is looking to Paris-Bercy.
Ten years after the legendary World Championships singles gold by Werner Schlager the World Table Tennis Championships take place again at the same location.
It will be the largest Table Tennis World Championships of all times.
The ITTF with 218
member nations is the second largest sports federation in the world, athletes from 159 countries managed in-country
qualification for Paris, where one expects a sold-out hall
for almost all competition days.
With 23 players
China has as expected
once again the largest (and most promising) contingent. As reported, the Chinese national team
makes the immediate preparation for the
World Championships already for
the third time in a row in the
Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat.
Japan comes with the second-largest
contingent (16 players), top nations such as Korea (14) Germany (12)
or host nation France (14) also compete in
impressive strength in Paris.
But the second largest contingent at the World Championships is. .
.
. . . the Werner Schlager
Academy.
No fewer than 17 players from 11 countries from the (inter)national WSA training
group will participate in this record-breaking
World Championships. An impressive performance by the Werner Schlager Academy, which is completed with the
presence of WSA-Star coaches
Richard Prause, Mario
Amizic and Aya
Umemura.
The WSA players
in Paris:
Werner Schlager, Chen Weixing, Robert Gardos,
Daniel Habesohn, Stefan
Fegerl, Feng Xiaoquan
(all Austria), Marcos Freitas, Joao Monteiro
(both Portugal), Mihai

Stanislav Golovanov (Bulgaria) Samuel Novota
(Slovakia), Daniela Dodean (Romania), Tamolwan
