16 players have been nominated by the ÖTTV for the LIEBHERR
Table Tennis European Championships (4 - 13 October) at the Werner Schlager
Academy in Schwechat.
So the host country Austria is represented naturally by
the largest national team in the Continental Championships.
But not the largest team at all . . .
By far the largest team at the European Championships is the one of the Werner
Schlager Academy. 28 (!) male and female players from the
national and international training group of the WSA will start at the EC.
In addition, numerous athletes, who are not permanent at the WSA, but visiting us consistantly for
training purposes.
Among the 28 permanent WSA EC- stars are also sounding names such as the Russian
superstar Alexander Shibaev, as Marcos Freitas and Joao Monteiro, Portugal, who
are among the very hot medal aspirants in the team competition. Further the
defending champion in women's doubles Daniela Dodean (SVS STRÖCK) and of course
the ÖTTV gold double of 2012 Robert Gardos / Daniel Habesohn.
New in the "WSA-Team" are the SVS STRÖCK recruits Li Fen (Sweden),
Tetyana Bilenko (Ukraine) and Petra Lovas (Hungary).
