Great achievements for the Werner Schlager Academy players at the European Championships in Gdansk.

The Austrian men's team with Werner Schlager, Robert Gardos, Daniel Habesohn and Stefan Fegerl succeeded in the quarterfinals against Croatia by 3 - 1 and now has a semi-final entry (the opponent on Tuesday at 16:00 clock / live on ORF Sport Plus is the multi-world champion Sweden), thus assuring at least a bronze medal for this team.

Schlager excelled against Croatia with two wins and was very satisfied: "I've really played tactically very clever, I'm very happy so far with these European Championships", said the WSA namesake Werner Schlager.

Portugal also has guaranteed at least attaining a bronze medal, with WSA regular training member Joao Monteiro an important element of this team.  In the quarterfinal against Hungary (3 – 0) Joao Monteiro performed convincingly with a 3 – 0 victory over Daniel Kosiba.

Monteiro's girlfriend Daniela Dodean of Austria Women's champion SVS STRÖCK, also helped Romania reach the semifinals, defeating Poland

3 - 1. Dodean prevailed 3-0 versus Natalia Partyka and cheered: "A great day for us all."
