With much grace, Austria’s men’s national team concludes their (Olympic) affair.

In the team event, following the (expected) 3 – 0 win over Egypt, the (feared) 3 – 0 lost to Germany, with Werner Schlager, Chen Weixing, and Robert Gardos completed to the 5^th position (just out of the medal round), now returning home.

The women’s team of Liu Jia, Amelie Solja, and Li Qiangbing failed in the 2^nd round against Hong Kong (1:3), which booked a 9^th place finish.

The individual competition was a sure prey for China.  In the men’s singles, they field world champions Wang Hao and Zhang Jike, with Zhang the winner.  The bronze went to Dmitri Ovtcharov.  In the women’s, Li Xiaoxia was victorious against world champion Ding Ning.
