She was almost like a child in the first hour at the WSA in 2009, as part of our "WSA on tour". The head coach of the Werner Schlager Academy quickly recognized in the then 12-year-old Thai woman Tamolwan Khetkuen an exceptional talent.
Quickly collaboration was put together and in consultation with the parents, with the Thai Association, the ITTF and equipment manufacturer Butterfly a "care package" for the little girl from Asia was made.
Three years later - "Mo", as she is called in the WSA and by her friends, has become a standard bearer on the Schwechat cityscape. Starting about a year ago, the now 15-year-old began living in Schwechat, trained daily in the WSA and is an integral part of international training group. Top trainers like Aya Umemura, Tamara Boros and Mathias Habesohn have taken the talent under their wings.
The development of the girl, who came from a faraway world to us and has become well integrated and settled, is sensational. Meanwhile, nominated to the Austria Women's Champion and Champions League finalist SVS STRÖCK and in the team of world class players like Daniela Dodean, Li Qiangbing, Yuki Nonaka and Aya Umemura, Mo races from success to success.
In the Austrian National League, where SVS STRÖCK sets this year entirely on the young wave, she has already caused a stir in three rounds and has yet not to experience one single defeat.
Since the beginning of her collaboration with the Werner Schlager Academy and SVS STRÖCK, Tamolwan Khetkuen has improved by about 300 world rankings in the U-15 World Ranking and she is consistently in the top 20, with her last strike taking place in the ITTF World Cadet Challenge last week in Guam.
She was nominated for the Team Asia and maintained on the way to the tournament victory for her team an undefeated record.
And in the individual event, the Austrian resident attained the semifinals and thus stood on the podium.
The way for the young lady is clear. It will not end so quickly. . .
