Record World Championships at Paris

Ten years after the historic World Champion title of Werner Schlager the Table Tennis World Championships in a few weeks (13 - 20 May) return to Paris-Bercy. To that legendary site where the Austrian table tennis star became a globally recognized icon.


2013, the players from China (just like 2003) are the odds-on favorites in the World Championships although the competition will be bigger than ever.


The World Championships of Paris - which is after receipt of the so-called pre-entries already fixed - break all records.


Players from 139 nations managed the national qualification in their countries.


A total of 482 male players and 422 female players have submitted the nomination. - more than ever before.

 

In Paris, all individual competitions are held: Men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles. In the last individual World Championships 2011 in Rotterdam all titles went to China - single gold to Zhang Jike and Ding Ning. The final phase of the World Championships preparations China's national team did at the Werner Schlager Academy.
