The European Table Tennis Championships in Gdansk are now history. For the WSA (with many happy partnership discussions with equipment vendors and numerous responsible ETTU associations), these championships were a sporting success.
The Austrian men's team, with their fixed WSA stars Werner Schlager, Daniel Habesohn, Stefan Fegerl and Robert Gardos secured the bronze medal in the team competition.
Portugal's men's team (with WSA training team regular Joao Monteiro) stood on the podium next to Austria for 3rd place in the team's.
An outstanding performance came from WSA resident player Daniela Dodean (SVS STRÖCK), winning two medals. The European Championships preparation by the Romanian team at the Werner Schlager Academy paid off with a silver medal. In addition, Daniela partnered with Elisabeth Samara for a silver in the doubles.
Some other
players from the international WSA training group (Mihai Bobocica / Italy,
Samuel Novota / Slovakia, Mattis Burgis / Lativa) also put in good to very good performances.
The next European championship of this magnitude (individual and team
competitions) will be held from 4th to the 13th October 2013 at the Werner
Schlager Academy in the Multiversum in Schwechat.
