SVS STRÖCK, Austria's women table tennis champion in 2011
and 2012, will return to the cross-border Super League after a year's break. The
Champions League finalist 2011 will go into the 2013/2014 season with a
significantly changed team to take part in three events with different
objectives.
In the European Champions League – where due to a rule change of the European
Union, the eight best club teams on the continent are "forced" to
start in the Champions League - SVS STRÖCK is set as one of two secret
favorites as number 5 which can be attributed primarily to the fact that the
new top player in the team (Li Fen) has played very few world ranking relevant
tournaments in the last twelve months and therefore is "only" the
number 88 in the world. Number 1 of the new Champions League and the first
candidate for the title is Fenerbahce. Minimum goal of SVS STRÖCK in the
Champions League is to reach the semi-finals.
In the Austrian Championships, after the almost incredible series of bad luck
last season, which was heavily affected by serious injuries, diseases and risk
pregnancy, the team again wants to bring the title to Lower Austria. First
opponents will be the defending champion Linz Froschberg and the upgraded team
of TTC Villach.
With very different objectives the Austrian top club SVS STRÖCK starts into the
cross-border Super League. Primarily here a platform for the young players
Valerie Tischler, Jessica Zlatilova (both Austria) and Thailand’s "whiz
kid" Tamolwan Khetkuen will be offered. The absolute top players are only
occasionally being employed here.
The squad of the season 2013/2014:
Daniela Dodean (Romania), Tatiana Bilenko (Ukraine), Petra Lovas (Hungary), Li
Qiangbing (Austria), Li Fen (Sweden), Tamolwan Khetkuen (Thailand), Jessica
Zlatilova (Austria), Valerie Tischler (Austria).
