It's a unique story of success.
In the summer of 2010, the Women's Table Tennis Club SVS STRÖCK was founded parallel to the imminent opening of the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat.
In the very first season Linz Froschberg (after 14 years) was replaced as number one in Austria, followed by the championship title 2011/2012. 2012 SVS STRÖCK was in the Champions League final, in 2013 (in spite of incredible injury and illness series in the team) in the CL semi-final.
Within a short time the partner team of Werner Schlager Academy became a fixed
star in the European women table tennis and the "colorful bird" of
the scene.
At European and global level a perceived impetus for the women's table tennis
sport in Europe.
Monday, 9 December (19:00, Werner
Schlager Academy / live on Laola TV) SVS STRÖCK contests a very special match.
It is the 100th (league) match since the foundation of the team.
And, it's not only a big anniversary but also a kind of "fateful match".
In the fourth match of the Champions League Preliminary Round (Group A), the
team with individual European champion Li Fen (Sweden), Daniela Dodean (Romania),
Petra Lovas (Hungary) and Tetyana Bilenko (Ukraine) meets the France's Champion
Metz TT (with the Single European Champion of 2009 Wu Jiaduo) .
In Group A, with Fenerbahce Istanbul, TTC Berlin Eastside and Metz TT four
elite teams have met and each team after four games still has the chance to
complete the preliminary round group at # 1. Similarly, all four teams run the
risk of being group’s last.
The two group winners will advance to the semi-finals, the third of the group continues
to play (like in European Football League) in ETTU Cup.
The sixth and final groups match for SVS STRÖCK is contested on
20 December in Berlin.
