In 2011, to prepare for the World Championships in Rotterdam, China's National table tennis team trained at the Werner Schlager Academy.  As they were very impressed by the experience, they are returning to the WSA to get ready for the 2012 World Team Championships in Dortmund (25^th March to 1^st April).

 

 

 

For this occasion, the Chinese Association has submitted to the WSA a list of 35 guests coming to Schwechat.

 

Among the list of China's mega stars working hard at the Academy during the period of 16^th to 22^nd  March will be Olympic medalists, World Champions, and World Ranking Leaders, including among the men:

 

Zhang Jike, the reigning men's world champion.

Ma Long, at this time the world's number one ranked men's player.

Wang Hao, Ma Lin, Wang Liqin – the golden Olympic team in 2008.

Xu Xin, a young star with the body more of a fighter, accompanied by Chen Qi, Qiu Yike, Yan An . . .

 

The women's creme de la creme of the sport shall also be here in full force.

Ding Ning, the reigning women's world champion, leads the team with Guo Yan, Guo Yue, Liu Shiwen, Li Xiaoxia, and Wu Yang.  The squad also has as a member Fan Ying, who is in service to Austria's women's champion SVS STRÖCK team and already feels very at home in the WSA after numerous training sessions and competitions.

 

Even if a country would compete only against China's coaches, it would be a very difficult task indeed!  In addition to the men's head coach Liu Guoliang (Olympic and World Champion) will be the ladie's coach Kong Linghui, the 2000 Sydney Olympics men's gold medalist who, on the road to this great success, almost went in defeat in the second round (3:2) to none other than Werner Schlager.

 

In March, he comes back as a good friend . . .
