The International Table Tennis Federation ITTF is now the second largest sports federation in the world.
ITTF President Adham Sharara announced during the World Cup in Rotterdam, that,
with Wallis & Futuna,
Curacao / Netherlands Antilles, Tokelau, Antigua / Bardbados, Mozambiqu, British Virginia and Iceland, new national associations have
been included into the World Federation.
This means
that the ITTF counts 215 member countries, and has overtaken the World Basketball Association in size and is in second place behind the World
Volleyball Federation (222 countries).
Sharara’s goal is to become the largest sports federation in the world as the revenues of the International Olympic Committee and the TV have to adapt to these positions. "I am very proud that we are bigger every year. It shows how well our development program works, "said Adham Sharara.
The ITTF is (as well as Butterfly)
the premium partner of Werner Schlager Academy.
From now on the world of table tennis has become bigger and more attractive.
