The PTT European Championships took place from the 19th to the 29th of October in Split (CRO).
Gold was won by Andreas Vevera in Class 1 and Stanislaw Fraczyk in Class 9.
In the final, Andreas Vevera played a dominant 3 – 0 win over the British player Rober Davies. In a very tight match that required high concentration at critical times, he prevailed with 11:9, 13:11, and 15:13.
In Class 9, Stanislaw Fraczyk was simply unbeatable. He also won the final 3 – 0, 11:8, 11:8, and 15:13 against Gerben Last (NED).
In the Women's singles class 3 event, the very fine player Doris Mader just missed a medal, losing a close 5 game match for the bronze against Mateja Pintar (SVN).
Three other Austrians proudly represented their country very well by advancing into the main competition. They are: Hans Ruep (Class 2 quarterfinals), Egon Kraminger (Class 3 quarterfinals) and Manfred Dollmann (Class 3, first knockout round)
