All the persons responsible and especially the participants of the first European Women Table Tennis Seminar that took place from Monday to Wednesday in the premises of the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat summed up euphorically.

Not less than 22 coaches from 17 countries participated at the education course which was organized by the WSA and the European Federation ETTU.

With Chinas highest table tennis headcoach Li Xiaodong a real star of the table tennis scene gave 3 lectures that were composed of a mix of theory and practical experience. The Austrian National-team player Stefan Fegerl thereby engaged himself for the Women-Table Tennis as he functioned as a translator.

ETTU-Deputy-President Ivo Goran Munivrana who together with WSA-Women Headcoach and ETTU-Development-Manager Neven Cegnar headed the course summed up: “This event was a huge success and also a hint that Women Table Tennis provokes a lot of interest and that there is still a lot to do in the future.”

As a guest lecturer Polona Cehovin Susin, responsible for “Education and Development” at the World Federation ITTF spoke to the coaches and she too was very satisfied with the seminar in the WSA: “Good to see with how much joy and energy the coaches participated. We have to build up on this event in the future.”

As we hoped: the first steps into a new era in women table tennis were done these days in Schwechat…
